CASE STUDY

Case:

On 22nd May 1999 a 3 year old boy was reported missing while playing in a street near his house.

Investigation:

The matter was reported to the police, and after intensive search for   6days, the police found the body of the child in an old house in a putrefied state. The body was found lying on a heap of bricks. It was learnt that the police had thrown a lot of water on the body to decrease the smell before removing it for post mortem. This had resulted in erasing almost all the physical evidence from the scene. The post mortem report revealed that the death had occurred due to a heavy blow with a blunt object at the back of the head and that the death should have occurred about 4-5 days back.

Report:

The case could not be solved for many months due to the lack of scientific evidence.
